Description
Every ten years, the State Historical Society of Iowa’s State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), a bureau of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, leads the development of a statewide plan to guide historic preservation in Iowa that reflects current challenges and opportunities as well as emerging issues in the field of historic preservation. This plan, a requirement of our lead federal partner the National Park Service, is shaped by and represents the interests of various stakeholders. These stakeholders include preservationists, archaeologists, state and federal agencies, and organizations with an interest in the state’s historic preservation work. SHPO is looking for a consultant or facilitator to assist with preparing the next plan.
